Army Technical Entry Scheme

Notification for recruitment under Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is issued by the Indian Army twice a year. An aggregate of 180 up-and-comers is chosen each year through Army TES through both the process. Army TES Recruitment notice is normally delivered during the period of May/June and October/November. Under Army TES, the selected youth are directly appointed to the rank of lieutenant after training. Officers working in this rank can be promoted to the rank of General in the Army as per the prescribed rules.

Army Technical Entry Scheme – TES Eligibility Criteria

For Army Technical Entry Scheme, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics as subjects. Along with this, the candidates must have obtained a minimum of 70 percent in all these three subjects. The youth should be unmarried,  age between 16.5 years to 19.5 years as on 1st of the month and year of commencement of the course. At present, the Armed force has given a notification for Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES-45) through which competitors are to be chosen for the course beginning in  2021. This means that the age of the candidates should not be less than 16.5 years and not more than 19.5 years as of  July 2021.

Army Technical Entry Scheme – TES Selection Process

The selection process for the Army Technical Entry Scheme consists of shortlisting of applications, a two-stage interview, and a medical examination over five days to be conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). After shortlisting the applications of the candidates they are called for an SSB interview. After five days selection process the selected candidate is sent for training. The length of preparation is 5 years, out of which one-year Basic Military Training is bestowed at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya. After which technical training of four years is given, out of which initial three years at focuses situated at Pune, Mhow, and Secunderabad and afterward Phase II preparing of 1 year. An engineering degree is awarded to candidates after successful technical training.

Army TES Recruitment Salary (Army Technical Entry Scheme – TES Salary)

Under the Army Technical Entry Scheme, a month-to-month payment of Rs 21 thousand is given during training. After fruitful consummation of training, permanent commission (arrangement) is given to the position of lieutenant in the military Officers appointed as lieutenants are paid monthly salary as per Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500) of 7th Pay Commission. Apart from this, military service pay i.e. MSP (Rs.15,500 per month), and many types of allowances and rations are given.
